| Your lucky so far with the cheap second hand gear. And nice pics, liked the seagulls on flickr. With the boat pictures the camera settings seem a bit extreme for the situation, or was that on purpose? Wreck A is taken with 1/8000 f/4.5 and ISO400. While something like 1/640 f/5.6 ISO100 could have also worked. | |

| That is a bit less nice. That short exposuretime often gives too much contrast on shadows and dark colors. Maybe using flash can help, or does that not work because of the exposuretime. Is it also stuck on 1/8000 on automatic modes? Tried a different body? Does the body recognize the lens correctly? Maybe the camera's firmware needs an update? | |

I think i get it. The lens is newer generation, and not compatible with the body which is old generation. 400d is also getting dated, but still nice if for the right price. Already know if the lens will work with the 400d? - Quote :
