On first sight it looks nice, but after reading the comments a bit less. The carbonfiber is quite thin with 2mm. And the predrilled holes to mount the motors are too small for 2204 size motors.

Overall a nice frame but By:Dengesiz 2015-10-01 10:55:00
Overall a nice frame perfect for 1806 motors but if you will use 2204/2206 motors then you will have to adjust the holes on the arms to mount which was an annoying process. I wish they had arm option for 2204 motors
I originally wanted to use this Emax 25A SimonK 4 in 1 ESC module, but as you can see it is quite large for use in a 180 frame. But maybe I can mount it on the bottom, have to think about this. Otherwise I have to get seperate ESC's, UBEC and powerboard.
edit: Forgot to mention the bottomplate on this picture is actually from a 250, so it will be huge on a 180 frame.

For strength it helps the arms are quite short, not too affraid these arms will brake off.
Still thinking about trying the Emax 4in1 ESC module, but after reading this I'm not so sure, apparently the quality isn't very great: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2331631
On the other hand the 4in1module is pretty cheap, not easy finding 4 25A ESC's, UBEC and powerboard for only 26Euro. Plus the casing that keeps the electronics protected and waterproof, and no loose connections or soldering.

Yes, think so too. And the poor quality already has me convinced it's better to get loose parts.
Now I'm a bit lost in powerdistributionboard land. Think I found a good one: http://www.banggood.com/EMAX-Power-Distribution-Board-0512-5V12V-For-Gimbal-Transmitter-FPV-Camera-RC-Multirotors-p-1020325.html
I'm planning to power the fpv camera and transmitter through a seperate small battery. This to prevent interference from the rest of the electronics. Maybe I can use the available solderingpoints to attach some extra LED's. I want a lot of LED's on my quad.

You need the 12v bec takeoff for powering a camera (think they are filtered on most boards)
And just solder a load of JST pigtails direct to the power anyhwere on the board for LED`s I got some off Ebay for mine HERE. Those are extension cables but I can cut them in half and have pigtails with both connectors then. Also this PDB HERE looks to have quite a few features including a 5v/12v switchable BEC Actually going to buy one myself now.

I read it's a bit of a gamble, lot of people having troubles with it. But must keep in mind it's usually the people with bad shit that need to whine on the internet to feel better, while the satisfied people just shut up and enjoy. If it works good it's a really nice PDB.
Think I will get this one also, only on Banggood it's a different version. The layout is different, and the voltage alarm can't be turned off. http://www.banggood.com/Matek-LED-POWER-HUB-5in1-V3-Power-Supply-Board-BEC-5V-12v-Low-Voltage-Alarm-Tracker-p-1019353.html

Again from reading, I found out those filters often aren't that good. That's why people choose to power the fpv equipment directly from a seperate battery. But if I do so I must add a voltageregulator inbetween the battery and video as safetymeasure to not fry the electronics in case the battery has too much charge.

Not sure if it's a good idea to place them on the same solderpoints as the ESC's/motors, quite possible you end up with flickering lights because of voltagespikes while flying. But there's enough place for LED's on that Matek board.
Good idea to get some prefixed cables, had the same idea earlier for the XT60 battery connector and cable. Going to buy an XT60 adaptercable for a Lipocharger and cut off the bananaplugs. This way is cheaper then buying seperate wire and XT60 plugs. http://www.banggood.com/AMASS-XT60-Plug-Connector-14AWG-30cm-Charging-Cable-Wire-p-1001688.html

I mean solder them direct to were you solder the battery to the board. Seen some of that guys vids before,he`s really dumb the LED`s are controlled by the flight controller / transmitter toggle switches I`m sure, that is what the servo cable connector is for and possibly power if not running bec`s on the ESC`s.

If in need for extra 12v connections for LED's that could be a good place. But should be carefull with putting 5V LED's at that spot, they could burn.

He's certainly not the brightest, but probably still knows more then me. He did mention that the servocable was for controlling the lost alarm, and maybe the LED's also.
He says he has some troubles with powering the LED's, they only blink and then go out again. Later in the video you can see when he switches to a 4S battery to power the board, the LED's work without problem. Which made me think that possibly those LEDstrips he used, actually are 12V LED's(instead of 5v), so they would not work when powered with a 3S battery that is not fully charged. hmmm, maybe he really is a bit dumb.
Just saw the matek on hobbyking for £4.00 smth then realised it`s not much cheaper because they charge me a minimum £5.00 shipping fee
I felt screwed also during checkout at Hobbyking. Everything on the site seems relatively cheap, but with added shipping you still end up paying the full price, or more. It's almost like they get their profits from the high shippingcosts.
