Have been waiting for some semi decent goggles that i could afford
and these finally came out this week.

I know they are not the greatest but for the price with diversity and
DVR and the other features I believe it`s well worth £70 quid so
I ordered one yippee !

There is an older model but this is the "updated" newer one.

Awesome, this your first venture into FPV?
Must do this myself, ASAP.

Cool Cool That's quite a lot for such little money actually. Only downside is that the goggles are a bit bulky compared to Fatsharks. But it does show high resolution video for a very low price. Hope you finally can get some flying done soon.

Seems the people complaining of lag when recording were not exiting the DVR screen  lol!

Another good review.

Hopefully mine will be here soon  Eachine VR D2 Pro Review 2179795567

Those are perfect for getting into FPV, don't mind the bulky-ness at all TBH as long as they're not too heavy. Most of all the price £70 is a steal + they record too...

One thing that bothers me a little is being able to wear glasses as he mention in his review, do you wear glasses & could you try them out if you do, would love to know...

BTW, I won some dollars, yay, so might get some of these soon, but first batteries and charger on Monday, fookin fanstastic, well chuffed.
cool

Question for anyone reading this, did you all fly FPV first or line of sight? Was gonna do LOS first but I'm not sure now as I might be able to get the goggles sooner than I thought? I've practised in Drone Racing League a lot, and now I've got the hang of it might just do LOS, but not sure, either aint a big deal though TBH.

I am supposed to wear reading glasses so I will let you know what I can
see without them and I if they are needed how much room there is to
try and fit them in.

As for first time flying I haven`t flown outside, only inside with my little hubsan
but I would deffo say LOS first to get used to the controls and to develop some
sort of muscle memory to make it easier when flying FPV because it`s very easy
at first to tap the wrong stick and go into a stick flapping panic which I assume
will be more simple to get out of when you can see your craft in front of you.

I first tried a few batteries LOS, just hovering and crashing. Tried flying from a little screen, but it was too distracting, once I took my eyes off the screen to see the quad, I lost sense of orientation. So I quickly got goggles cause that's what I actually bought the quad for.

LOS and FPV is completely different from each other. Some people are amazing at flying LOS, but look like a noob when trying FPV first time. Though for practise LOS does help to get a feel for rates and throttling.

I prefer FPV cause then I am flying myself. That's why I do this hobby mostly, probably wouldn't have bothered without the FPV part. It's just superawesome to be able to fly around like this.

I have good and bad news about the KISS quad. What a Face

First the bad, well was to be expected just not this soon, the brand new Racerstar motors started to wear down after only a couple of flights and minor crashes. Actually the motors untouched in the crashes were in worst shape. Bearings already becoming so loose I didn't want to fly with them out of fear of some failure.

Now the good news Smile I decided to give the troublesome Emax 2600kv redbottoms another chance. Before, they caused very bad oscillations. But perhaps with this new build and the updated firmwares they would perform better. Also to prevent the insane drainage on the battery I reduced max output of the motors to only 75%. At the same time this is safer when it comes to max amps the ESCs and PDB can handle. I noticed not much less performance in flight, but batterytime greatly improved. And most important, after a little tuning almost no more oscillations. Cool

Wow that's terrible m8,can you send them back?

Glad you got the Rs red bottoms to work though, they are a
fantastic motor and getting extra flying time by reducing
top end power by a fraction seems a great idea and one
I`m sure I will trying when I get out and up in the air.

I don't think so, they're already used. But I'm not too upset about it, they only cost me €24 total. I bought them for experimenting, didn't want to spend another 100 on new topquality motors if they weren't the problem. Turned out quite fine in the end. Smile Might try revise the Racerstars in the future with new bearings and axis.

Even with the reduced power I still haven't tried full throttle yet, plenty of power left, could even reduce a bit more. Certainly recommendable with those special edition motors you got. Smile This way you can enjoy the excellent buildquality of high end motors without the insane powerconsumption. Plus, as in my case, much less risk of burning an ESC due to high amps. Those 2600kv's at full throttle with the wrong props could be too much for the 24A ESCs, but this way there's no chance of damage.

N1 mate, cheers...

Thanks for the input chaps on flying FPV...
I've just ordered a couple of DroneLab Chaos 4s 75c 1300mah batteries + IDST 300w charger, I think initially I will be doing LOS as I'm now moments away from it being finished, yippee.
Might even, now I can, splash out on something like the new Baby Hawk BNF to practice first, it has FPV too (when I get some goggles), so I'll practice Acro in LOS and FPV without fear of killing £300ish worth of gear. Also I can tone down the power throttle curve and fly this indoors at other times.
I must admit I'm just a wee bit scared about my first flight, whilst being fairly confident though at the same time, so very much looking forward to it, citin'. Wink
And Canner yeh, exactly as you say flying FPV from the pilots POV onboard the actual craft is an awesome ability and needs to be experienced.

Ace Canner, mostly good news there on the motors no more dreaded oscillations is awesome news, not such a big loss on the cheapo ones for testing I guess.
Great idea about reducing max power output, I was going to do this too when I drop my 4s batteries in. I presume you changed the throttle curve on the Transmitter, if not, how did you, would love to know?

Now rubbing hands waiting for new postal drops for my new stuff.

I'll be looking through the peephole waiting for him...

Just looked on BangGood and that Eachine Aurora is only £97 on promo till tomorrow and you don't have to buy a receiver like you do with the BabyHawk.... I imagine a far better machine all round TBH...

Are BangGood ok for deliveries to UK, what the usual cost for something this size about a tenner?

Arse....  decisions.... I know what to do, play QuakeLive.

I set it up in the KISS FC GUI, but Betaflight GUI has the same option. Just reduce 'Max throttle', but not too much ofcourse.  Wink

If it's the Aurora100, I can recommend it. But the Aurora90 with the propguards is quite heavy. Can take off the propguards, but then you need to find a way to mount the camera. The 100 is perfect for flying inside or garden, but must be careful cause despite the size those tiny quads can go superfast quickly. Smile

No idea about how this works for the UK. But you should also think about things like extra importtax/shippingtax, don't know how much in the UK. For NL I can select 'Priority Direct Mail', and then magically I don't have to pay tax over certain items that actually would require extra shippingtax. Don't know if this also works for the UK, but you can try. Shippingcosts from China is cheap, make sure to also select shippinginsurance when ordering. Smile

If you select nothing and accept default shipping in UK it is free delivery.

When selecting the first option on list or maybe it`s second lol, same as canner wrote anyway,it is usually delivery 7 - 12 days and pay between 0-£2.50.

It usually ends up being £1.00 something for me but I have had it change to 40p
once.
Also when I select this pay option everything I have ordered this way has taken
no more than 8 days to arrive, discounting weekends.

Ordered, thanks guys details to follow on my build thread, many new toys to play with....
One of which was the Auroa 100 + Firer 110 frame + other goodies....
cool

FPV goggles, not quite yet, probably get those you mention I reckon Mucky, depending on quishy-ness of foam and it's ability to fit glasses in, that's the only thing really that stopped me, plus spending a stupid amount of money when I went to the Quadcopter Parts section for a "Last look".
lol!
