Setting Taranis to 8 channels cuts latecy in half,hmm.....

This I already knew, but not how it worked, so nice he explains.
Must look into tuning this RC Interpolation at some point, decreasing latency, very interesting.

Excellent as always from the Bard he explains things very well...
Yes, one to play about with definitely, I can't even remember if I'm set to 16 or 8, most likely set mine to 16 thinking there was no difference in speed of signals, but clearly there is... For now I'll leave mine as is until I go full out FPV, but defo changing that one, hmmm do I need 5 Aux channels, not sure, will check and think about it.
Nice viddy, much useful info. Thanks.

I was thinking about this yesterday and,hmmm...
#1 modes #2 buzzer #3 lights #4 more lights #5 even more lights.
Gimbals I don`t have a clue about,i think they use the servo channels that I also know nothing about.

I can explain... As you can see in the Video there a 4 channels showing what each stick does, left stick has 2 channels, right stick also has 2. So the first 4 channels are for moving the quadcopter about the place, 2 channels for each stick, so these are the first 4 channel on any craft. They are all just channels to send a single piece of info down, the first 4 are Roll, Pitch, Yaw and Throttle in that order, or TAER.
So the 5 Aux channels I'm referring to are on top of the normal 4 already used for movement of the quad. Aux 1 is channel 5, Aux2 is channel 6 and so on... Look in the receiver tab of CFlight or BFlight, these are all the channels in order 1-18, although we normally have 8 or 16 channel transmission.
Plus you have to remap the first 4 depending on what order TAER are transmitted in from your receiver. For me: 1 - Throttle (T) 2 - Roll (A) 3 - Pitch (E) 4 - Yaw (R)
So these are the first 8 channel on my setup, if I need anything above Aux5 then I would need 16 channel setup instead of 8. I think we can mostly get away with 8 for a smoother RC Interpolation like The Bard was on about....
Hope that helps a little...

Only need extra channels when using GPS features like alt-hold, pos-hold, etc. And maybe also for when tuning the PIDs via the Taranis LUA script.
8 channels is well enough. Unless you're crazy about making switches for everything, but then you will probably need more then 16 channels eventually.

I know the flight controls use the first 4 channels ya pillock !
Was just saying what 5 aux channels would used for.
Forgot about arm switch as my mavic uses sticks to arm.
so now we have...
#1 arm #2 modes #3 buzzer, lost model alarm #4 lights #5 fuck all. or GPS modes
So that's yer 8 channels,no need for extra latency with 16 which I would of had not knowing about it.

Hehe,
Fair enough, but you did say you knew nothing about gimbals, the controls ARE gimbals, so I covered all bases just in case that's what you meant.
So you must mean camera gimbals then, "say what you see", "it's close, but it's not the right answer"...
Good info that viddy, I would not have realised this either, N1.
