Aye, interesting that be and a good theory for large quads that the tiny ones...
...But when he talks about the "Prop" guards on the Tiny Whoop style quads, he's wrong about the guards. They are ducts not guards, and ducts will or should give better thrust performance, possibly at the expense of yaw but this is by design. He's claiming that the "guards" reduce performance and are much better on the BabyHawk, I'll bet the hawk has larger motors for a kick off and of course doesn't really on ducted props. Different kettle of fish IMHO, reducing yaw in favour of thrust is better for handling a tiny quad...
Yeh though reducing blocking of disk unloading is a good theory, we need to get Bruce from Oz (Xjet YT) on this one...
Good viddy...

About those propducts on the Hawk he says they are more a rail for protection, instead of duct shaped. That's why the yaw is less affected, cause the air can move more freely.
Personally I won't notice it, since I don't have that much experience. I would simply wonder what's wrong, probably think it's the PID's that need tuning. But if you're more experienced and used to flying fast with snappy moves you'll probably notice anything that's slightly off. Once your completely familiar with PID tuning and you know your tune is 100% good, but the quad still flies crappy, then you start thinking about things like this disk unloading stuff.
