Interesting,
I've been using an Ad blocker since I've been on the internet of one form or another, when I go on someone else's computer and browse the web, web pages look soooo busy and completely different to what I see. Such a mess of adds and nonsense and information that is nothing to do with what I'm looking for.
...So basically what I see now and have mostly always seen on my Chrome browser where the adds are supposed to be is nice, clean, white, space, no adverts.
It works a treat.
BTW I use uBlock Origin, it's simple and it works, so I don't really care if it's listening, besides, I don't actually have a headset and my logitech camera is not on during normal browsing on my PC.
You agree to their T&Cs when you sign up like Canner said, so they are actually doing what you've allowed them to do. ...but not actually read all the shite before clicking "I agree".
Also, when you shut down Chrome, there are still services running too, so although quite creepy, doesn't surprise me.
Legally speaking, they are most likely fine, morally probably not.
Mucky, if you never use the camera on the laptop, disable the device in Device Manager.
