Large CME blob explodes from the Sun

Not often it is such a concentrated mass, usually a CME explodes into a thin cloud that quickly spreads out and dissipates.

Though it does look to be going in this general direction, hope it's not heading directly towards Earth.

This prediction chart shows a CME going towards Earth, but it is a couple of days off,
so not sure the CME on the chart is the same one that just happened last night.

Well, there certainly was some EM interference today, so the ENLIL prediction chart was correct.
Not sure if it is from that latest explosion last night, or from a CME earlier this week.

A little bird flew against the window early this evening, which often happens during a geomagnetic storm.
Their orientation is partly based on the magnetic field lines, they get confused when the magnetic field is disturbed.
Usually they are fine after crashing into the window, sadly this time the poor birdy did not survive.

Small miracle today. The bird is gone.

Either a cat took it, or it wasn't really dead.

If it was a cat I expect some feathers or something but the place was clean.
Also I said small bird, but the bird was fairly sized, a grown Starling.
For a cat actually slightly too big to pick up in the mouth, plus then the cat has to jump the 1,8m fence.
But I found no sign of ripped feathers or blood.

Bird of prey is also possible, but then there would be feathers al over the place as they just start eating on the spot.

So hopefully the bird regained consiousness and managed to fly away.
Yesterday it looked good as dead, out cold, bleeding from the beak and leaking stomach fluid.
I put it in the yard so it could die in peace, before I put it in the ground.

Glad I didn't bury it right away.
