I think it's funny this kid outsmarts the socalled 'high budget military advanced weapons development' on a small budget from his garage.

Indeed
Such a laser gun won't leave much evidence, so would be easy to kill someone without getting caught. Though this gun is not that powerful, I'm sure it's not that difficult to make it strong enough to cook somebodies brain.
