| ..., or is it a invisible cigarshaped ufo? I know it could be a natural phenomena, but it looked weird enough to make a pic from it. Made these pics from my garden a few days ago. Here it is explained how it could be a natural phenomena: http://geyserofawesome.com/post/132755774209/today-the-department-of-awesome-natural-phenomena - Quote :
- “Supercooling is when the temperature of a liquid is lowered below freezing without it becoming a solid. In this state, the particles will crystallize if even a single “seed crystal” is available to activate the process. The Bergeron Process is when a mixed phase cloud, containing supercooled liquid and ice, undergoes rapid crystal growth in the centre while the water around quickly evaporates—this is what gives you that hole-punched-out-in-the-middle-of-the-sky effect.
Not totally convinced it being natural though, as the article explains it's from a rare form of supercooling inside a cloud, without explaining where exactly this 'localised' cooling comes from.

| Always as kid, I loved watching clouds. Even had made my own 'cloud atlas' rewriting encyclopedia into notebook, and supplying it with self made photos of certain clouds. I Remember tho Kodak film camera and me taking it, and my Mum saying: don't break it, or i take all your b-day money by next 3 years to buy new one. Those times, cameras weren't cheap stuff, film wasn't either, and you had to take negative film to some photo-studio for development. Either with Polaroid, but those i did with my uncle. I hope this notebook is somewhere still, lying deep in Grandma's attic. | |

I remember that. Could never afford the 1 hour service, so always had to wait a few days, and in that time a few days was very long. - Quote :

That would be really nice to get back.
