| Finshed my new build with the moka frame. Problem is when i arm it the motors spin up real fast and it takes off straight up into the air. Can`t find an answer to the problem anywhere and it driving me nuts....it is NOT the problem bardwell keeps going on about that noobs get with motors turning and gaining speed as the pid loop adjusts. It fucking literally just takes off into the air. _________________ | |

| That's why you should never test with the props on, it can be dangerous. Specially when you test it indoors. Hope there's no damage or anything bad happened, apart from a big scare, that should help you remind not to test with the props on. - Quote :

Yea, that's tricky most solutions you'll find will be about that problem. Have you set the proper channels for your Taranis? It's easy to mix up the TAER channels. Can be done on the receiver tab, or on the Taranis itself. Though it should not arm when throttle is halfway. Can't really think up something else atm, will look into it a bit more. What flightcontroller did you use? Found this : https://intofpv.com/t-motors-spin-up-almost-full-throttle-when-the-quadcopter-is-armed

| Ahh,think mine is on 8k / 4k but will check thanks.
It`s the DalRc F722 dual gyro with the DalRc rocket 45 amp AIO.
Using MPU6000 gyro. _________________

| Hate to be the one to say it, but maybe you're just unlucky again. But since everything appears to work fine, untill you arm, there should be a solution.
Have looked around and it appears there are quite a few DalRc F722 defective boards. Though should keep in mind it's always people with troubles that complain online, the ones with a good board won't go online to tell their FC works fine.
I found there are a few things you can try, starting with turning off the BlackBox in Betaflight. Also can try switching to the other gyro, I don't think it is possible to use them both at once.
Have you flashed the FC with latest Betaflight 4? Or is it still stock firmware?
What DShot have you selected in Betaflight, I see these ESCs are Dshot 1200 Ready, but maybe DShot 600 is better.(or if it's at 600 now, try 1200)
Another possibility could be that you need to flash the ESCs with latest BLHeli firmwareversion. And using BLHeliSuite you can also look if there are any settings that might cause this odd behaviour.
I forgot to ask... Have you tested the motors and throttle without props on, and does it work fine then? Can you use the throttle? Or do the motors go full speed immediately no matter if the props are on or off?

Heh..was at Dshot 1200 and set it to Dshot 600 now it is fine... New problem now motors getting very hot after 5 seconds. Have checked bolt lengths and they are not touching the motor windings, hmmm. _________________

| Yay... Progress Motors too hot is not good, could be a PID issue or gyro filter setting. Maybe you can set the gyro less sensitive. But on the other hand it's not good to thottle up too much without props, this can cause damage to the motors. If the motors get hot without even arming the quad, it's certainly a short. Otherwise I'd try doing a careful first flight, just a short while, and then check the temps. If the motors are still hot, then you must adjust the PIDs or filtersettings. Maybe try looking up some info about this FC and PID/filtersettings. If you haven't disabled gyro 32K sampling mode, you should try that. Can be found on the Betaflight Configuration tab. Yeah thats the first thing i did after checking the bolts. Motors were not boiling hot and it could be just me panicking and they might be ok when cooled down by the air when flying. _________________ | |

If you're not burning your fingers, it will probably be fine. Maybe only need to tune a bit, but it is always tricky to find what exactly needs to be tuned.
