For now Hitfilm Express is good enough, but the only thing I miss in the free version is the option to animate the filters, colors etc. From watching the videos it's not quite clear if DaVinci does do that kind of stuff, guess I'll have to find out myself.

Hmmm,you must be going about it wrong,even in the free version these things should be animatable.

Think I said it wrong, filters and some color are indeed animatable.
I meant to say the 'effects' are not animatable. There are some preanimated effects, but all the others can't be animated in the free version of HitflimExpress
I know in PremierePro you can animate everything on the timeline, things like blur, brightness/contrast, glow, etc. Can make nice fadeovers by animating these effects. I miss that in the free Hitfilm Express.
