Everything that makes it into a lion appears to be added later. The paws, hindlegs and tail, all made of small irregular stones. Are those repairs, or a way to cover up the original statue and make it look like it was a lion?
I don't believe the head was recarved, despite Brien Foerster saying it was.

I like Brien Foerste i always find his videos interesting even though he is promoting his holiday company.

I also like Brien, it is great he explores and shows the world all those ancient architectural sites. Though he must have a lot of knowledge, that doesn't mean I believe everything he says or does.
Like that humming he does inside the piramyds or other places, always makes me roll my eyes.
