What the fuck is up with all these people setting up a camera filming themselves ranting about anything to rant about.
I remember when nvidia introduced SLI, the option to link 2 gpu cards to use as one.
It was a big thing, I remember waiting for a card that supported that.
Eventually I found out SLI was barely supported in games, and some games even ran worse or crashed on a SLI setup.
The first cards that supported SLI were fucking expensive, but then SLI died a slow death.
Now it's only useful if you want to mine bitcoins, for gaming it's hardly used anymore.
Also I remember paying big bucks (like 500) preordering the latest and greatest card.
Then the date of launch passed, and had to wait weeks till nvidia caught up delivering to the shops.
Finally when I did receive the card, literally a week later the prices dropped 100€.
Then a month later a new version of the same card was released. Faster, more energy efficient, smaller, cooler, and cheaper.
This RTX is just the consumer beta version, people that buy it are called 'first adopters'.
They are like guinea pigs, all their complaints and hardware fails are taken in by nvidia to improve their product for the masses.
Actually.. I also remember, in the past these superexpensive first launches of new technologies were mainly intended for gaming developers and companies.
Not at all for the consumermarket. But since this is the nosey new internet age, were everything leaks out and get blown up by people on youtube, now everybody wants to be the firstest to show off their fancy RTX fps.
Not even sure if nvidia intended to promote the RTX for consumers the way it went.
It's been mostly loners in their basement making videos or websites for clicks, money and attention.
