I also got a Matek PDB, but another version, not sure if I can make the LEDs blink like that. If it`s got the LED light pads to solder to on the board then it should. It does have the solderpads, but think I rather have them on all the time. Just curious if its possible. Is that button you press to change the frequency of blinking not meant to set the lowvoltage alarm? Is the PDB not supposed to beep also? Maybe the LEDs should be on all the time, untill the battery starts to get empty, then they flash and flash faster as the battery goes dead. Same as with the Hubsan.

| You hold down the button for 2 seconds to enter the setting low voltage alarm mode. In the video you can see one of the modes is lights on constant. I`m guessing the manual mode for changing lights is for ppl that don't have an aux channel on their radio / receiver. You should be able to turn the lights off and then change the mode from the aux channel on your radio / receiver. The buzzer does beep but there is no sound on the video. _________________ | |

| Found that on my PDB's manual also. Looks like apart from the boards layout, the only difference with mine, is that yours also has 12v LED pads. Mine only has pads for connecting 5v LEDs. | |

| The LED pads are whatever the BEC output is,mine is set to the default 5v so the pads are 5v for the lights. ETA (just noticed it says that also in the pic above) I assume you have the other 5 in 1 matek board which has a different layout to mine and has only 4 LED pads rather than the 6 mine has. Those are the only differences I think between the two. _________________ | |

| Yes, that's right. I've got the one with 4 LED pads, just enough to connect the 4 motorLEDs. Thinking about how to add more LEDs. Would be nice to have some more LEDs instead of only below the motors. Maybe it's possible to solder a voltage regulator to the battery pads, together with the battery cable. Considering to try it.

| I got one of these for "always on" mode,it`s extremely bright, has different colours and 9 flashing modes can connect direct to 12v supply on the PCB. It worked fantasic when I was testing it until I wanted to show it off to my wife,i plugged the fucking 5v end in by mistake and lots of smoke appeared . There are also lots of other lights that run directly off 12v. http://www.banggood.com/Lantian-Flash-Light-Strobe-with-9-Mode-WS2812-for-FPV-Racing-Multicopter-p-1053026.html _________________ | |

| The quad is starting to look pretty awesome - Quote :

by mistake and lots of smoke appeared . Argh smoke, nasty. Hope the damage wasn't too bad. To be sure this won't happen again you could make small labels on the plugs.

That's a good idea for a beginner and for trying out. Warranty is nice, but I don't think that covers damage from crashes. And in my case I bought the quad in China, would be expensive to send it back for repairs. It's much cooler to build one yourself. For me it's a challenge to get it flying, and it will be awesome once it does. When you start flying more often, maintenance and repairs are needed anyway.
