How is it possible this was carved out of the bedrock, and supposedly they even did it under water.

Fascinating.He says they were carved underwater 1000 years ago but they are very close to the surface,i think more likely they were carved during a drought. Very nice though.

Praveen did mention the water was much higher at the time it was made. Not sure how he can say that with such certainty, might as well have been a drought period. But even if it was carved on dry land, it is an amazing accomplishment. How did they carve all the bedrock from around the lingams with such precision?
