| As I kind of expected, it didn't really fit. Although the size is good, the supports added too much resin on the inside, destroying the imprint. And I made the supports too short, baking the object to the baseplate at some places. On screen it looked good, but came out a bit different at the printer, adding more resin then expected. I prepared the denture as much as possible so I could try it out, but because of the extra resin on the inside it would not fit at all. Tried sandpapering and found the material is surprisingly tough, which is good to know. Not even going to try drill out the resin on the inside, better to use less or no supports for that area next time. Also found I want to make some changes to the model itself, but think it's better to just rebuild from scratch. Making it fit will be the next challenge, at least I'm actually printing stuff now. | |

| Couple more pics from the latest print, a sphere with a skull hollowed out. Too bad the resin turns a bit yellow, was hoping it would be more transparent. The sphere is about 4cm in size, printed with 0.04 layer thickness, the detail is quite nice. Looks pretty awesome with a light underneath, but on the pic the effect doesn't show very well. Should have done a better job polishing, although to the naked eye it doesn't look as bad as on the picture. | |

| Starting with a cube on saturday in 3DSMax, I remodelled the dentures completely from scratch. Although I used the imprint I made as base to build the model, they still may not fit. But at least now I can easily modify the model to make them fit. Mixed transparent resin with some white resin(50/50), and averaged the exposuretime, made the teeth's color almost look realistic. This time I put the standards on the teeth, instead of on the inside, so now I can file away the remains. Made the dentures as thin as possible, and it came out very nice, maybe can even go thinner. I modelled most of it myself, except for the teeth, I took those from a free 3D model skull I downloaded some time ago. | Tried how they fit, and general size and shape is pretty good, though as expected it didn't fit very well yet. I made the teeth too low, looks a bit weird, and the sides must be higher also, but I thought that was necessary anyway. Have to reshape the model quite a bit, but at least now I know what I have to adjust. Think I need to make 2 or 3 more prints before I got something useable.
